Designed by J. Smidek and manufactured in Czechoslovakian factory Ton – one of world’s oldest factories of bentwood furniture. The company’s history dates back to 1861, when Michael Thonet founded the first factory in Bystrice pod Hostynem. In 1953, the factory was named Ton. Up to this day, the company continues its traditions by successfully introducing new trends and designs of bentwood furniture.
The chair has undergone comprehensive restoration. Wooden frame has been cleaned of old varnish, stained light brown and protected with several coats of semi-matte varnish. The upholstery elements have been recreated with resemblance to the original and replaced.
